Chromebook Price: Google And HP Launches New Chromebook, Price Starts At Just $279 In The US

For some time now, Google's hands have been full as they try to penetrate every possible niche in the tech world. It is clearly dominating the smartphone OS battle with its Android platform, it also pioneered the 'smartglass' technology with Google Glass. Now, it continues to release new Chromebooks to get more consumers to use its platform.

In a report by GSM Arena, the California-based company has teamed-up with PC maker HP to unleash Chromebook 11. Packed with an 11" IPS display with 1366x768p resolution, the laptop is aggressively priced in the US market.

The report says the Chromebook will retail at only $279.

But if you think this piece of tech is cheap, think again.

Chromebook 11 features two Cortex-A15 cores, 16GB SSD, 100GB of Google Drive storage for two years, 2GB of RAM, a VGA webcam, and Chrome OS.

The company also claims that the laptop's battery life will run for up to 6 hours.

The guys at Engadget already got their hands on the laptop and provided a hands-on video.
