‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Spoilers: Caroline And Tyler Will Break Up? [VIDEO]

"Vampire Diaries" season 5 premiered last week, and at the end of the season 5 premiere, Caroline listened to a voicemail from Tyler. In a new "Vampire Diaries" sneak peek clip from episode 2, "True Lies," it looks like Caroline and Tyler are going through a rough patch.

Will Caroline and Tyler break up in the next few episodes?

In the voicemail, Tyler tells Caroline that he has decided to defer Whitmore College so that he can focus on helping a werewolf pack in Appalachia, Wetpaint reports.

According to the sneak peek video for episode 2 of season 5 of "Vampire Diaries," Caroline is not happy. In fact, Caroline decides that since Tyler is "deferring from enrolling" and from answering her phone calls, she's "deferring from having sex with him ever again," Wetpaint reports.

It doesn't sound like things are going well between Caroline and Tyler in season 5.

Candice Accola, who plays Caroline Forbes on "Vampire Diaries," also gave spoiler hints when she talked to The Hollywood Reporter, suggesting that her character's relationship with Tyler is going to be strained this season.

"The likelihood of them lasting is just as likely as any other high school relationships that [travel] to college," Candice said. "Sometimes that works, sometimes that doesn't. I think Caroline's really trying to make it work but I think in most circumstances, high school sweethearts don't really make it past freshman year."

This is not comforting for Forwood fans.

Another threat to their relationship in season 5 is the handsome new men at Whitmore College. In the premiere of this season of "Vampire Diaries," we were introduced to Jesse, a handsome upperclassmen that takes a liking to Caroline.

If Tyler doesn't get back fast, Caroline may end up deferring their relationship too!
