Malcolm Gladwell Outliers, Quotes: International Best Seller Claims He Does Not Do Journalism, ‘I Don’t Write About People I Don’t Like’

Malcolm Gladwell’s thoughts may not be so pleasing and something you don’t want to read after being interviewed by this pretty much successful proverb investigator and writer for The New Yorker but Gladwell clearly emphasized that he doesn’t do journalism. It is an odd policy that this writer for America’s most prestigious magazine journalism follows according to Gawker.com.

The reason behind this must be the fact that there is a need to conduct an interview in writing long, involved articles like those that are published by The New Yorker –this is as per journalism’s basic principle. These individuals involved in the interview are significant to the making of the story –which at some point the interview scenario could turn out odd due to their unpleasing personality. Regardless however of whatever reasons, the need to conduct and complete the interview is a must. These are the instances that Gladwell takes pleasure in working in with; combative interviews such as those pertaining to politics despite the fact that doing this doesn’t offer him guarantee of liking the person being interviewed with.

As per quote however that Gladwell presented to the New York Times Book Review, he said “I also like to steer clear of writing about people whom I do not personally like. My rule is that if I interview someone, they should never read what I have to say about them and regret having given me the interview.”

There actually is a certain line from the book that Malcolm Gladwell recently published under his name. He made it a point to give the information straight by courageously saying that Brian Grazer “is dyslexic” and that because of that it “taught him to be a good listener”. However he stressed the fact that “Brian Grazer is a successful Hollywood producer.”

Gladwell always made sure to complement things after all.
