It’s pretty much obvious that New Yorker voters prefer the city’s public advocate with 71% rate of choice leaving Lhota, former mayor Rudolph Giuliani’s deputy, 21% voters behind as per information gathered by the Quinnipiac University. According to the University’s survey released in September 19, an increase from 25% to 66% in favor to De Blasio’s margin was shown. This notable increase however is taken by De Blasio as “gratifying and humbling.”

It was through the radio station 1010 WINS that he said that he isn’t taking anything for granted “even though this is a wonderful poll”. He believes that the support is coming from the fact that voters “want to find out what we can do to make this city a city of opportunity again”, he said.

Although there was a certain chunk of 5% undecided and the 11% who confessed that there’s a “good chance” that they’ll change their mind on the general election on November 5 although they have already named a candidate; there were 2% in the survey that was pointed to Adolfo Carrion, Independence Party candidate’s supporter.

The poll shows his voters are 40 to 55% among whites, 10 to 79% among Hispanics, and 6 to 90% among black voters. There was a poll conducted in September 25 to October 1 with 1, 198 likely voters with plus or minus 2.8% margin of errors. Anyways, De Blasio is white who married a black woman.

Although there have been surveys that show De Blasio leading the poll, Joe Lhota’s spokeswoman Jessica Proud confidently said that they “remain confident that once New Yorkers learn more, they will choose Joe Lhota, a proven leader with a real plan to move New York forward.” This is in regard with the poll that Lhota’s support has 33% of people who haven’t got any information about him –thus it depicts a room to grow for his votes.

The campaign ad that was released by Lhota was aimed at Democrats stressing out Lhota and De Blasio’s support for abortion right, having small amounts of marijuana decriminalized and same-sex marriage; while on the flip side, uplifting clips derived from his primary night victory were the contents of the ad from De Blasio.

However, both parties were given the privilege of having their campaign ads released through their first general election television ads.
