Zac Efron Rehab Update: Young Hollywood Actor Shows Appreciation For Fans’ Support, ‘Neighbors’ Star Is ‘Healthy, Happy And Not Drinking’

Zac Efron’s rehab situation saddened everyone, especially when many knew that it wasn’t just one but two rehab stints that the young Hollywood heartthrob went through earlier this year, according to TMZ. This is, as per report, after he realized that he’s struggling from alleged addiction from cocaine.

In what is the first time that he has broken his silence since after the reports (although neither Efron nor any of his reps had made previous comments regarding the said news), Zac Efron posted his photo taken from the Machu Picchu mountain ruins, Peru last Friday. Included was his caption for the said photo stating that he and his Dad just arrived from their “incredible trip to Peru” and thanked all of his fans.

E! News earlier reported that the 25-year-old actor earlier this year quietly spent some time in rehab. Adding that there were sources insinuating that the actor went and completed successfully the treatment for alcohol issues for about five months back. And according to the statement from a source who spoke with E! News, Efron is “healthy, happy and not drinking” also adding that “He’s taking time to focus on working.”

People magazine also received information from a source stressing that the actor is “doing great,” and has completed the treatment thus is “taking care of himself and it shows.”

TMZ noted a source’s claim that while Efron was portraying the frat boy’s character in the movie “Neighbors” that his problem “spiraled out of control”. In order however to have this issue addressed, the former “High School Musical” star decided his escape destination to be Peru despite the fact that it is considered as the world’s cocaine capital.
