Legend Of Korra Ratings Sinks To 1.1 Million After Timeslot Change: Book 2 Preview Clip Of 1-Hour Special 'Beginnings' Featuring Avatar Wan Appears Online

"The Legend of Korra" Book 2 has been struggling in ratings ever since its premiere, but now things are looking worse than ever.

After rescheduling "The Legend of Korra" Book 2 from Fridays at 7:00pm to 8:30pm EST, the latest episode titled "Peacekeeper" garnered only 1.1 million total viewers, according to NickandMore.

As a comparison, "Civil Wars, Part 2," the previous episode which aired at 7:00pm, drew 2.38 million viewers. "The Legend of Korra" series premiere, drew 4.55 million viewers.

Oddly enough, many expected shifting the timeslot to a later time on Friday would raise viewership. So why did this experiment fail?

"For the three weeks 'Korra' aired at 7pm, it had a 'SpongeBob' lead-in. That's important, as 'SpongeBob' (which is down somewhat itself) is still Nick's top draw," writes NickandMore.

"Friday's lead-in to 'Korra'? 'Sanjay and Craig.'"

The fear of cancellation for "The Legend of Korra" is fairly low, as Book 3 and 4 are already in production. However, the performance of Book 2 is certainly troubling for Nickelodeon.

The constant timeslot juggling is certainly a primary cause of "The Legend of Korra" losing its viewership, and it seems the trend will continue next week, as a one-hour special will be aired.

"Beginnings, Part 1 and 2" tells the story of the very first Avatar called Wan, and both episodes are being aired back-to-back.

And while "The Legend of Korra" will continue on its new timeslot for Book 2 at 8:30, the one-hour special will being at 8:00pm.

For now, we have a preview clip of the special.

Check it out here.
