Elder Scrolls Online Release Date: More Heavy Armor Customization? Zenimax Reveals During Question & Answer Interview That Users Will Be Able To Mix And Match

Users will be able to mix and match heavy armor plates with different hoods and boots, Zenimax revealed during a recent question and answer interview, giving gamers more mix and match opportunities.

"You will be able to mix and match as you see fit. We do have sets of armor and weapons that confer special bonuses to you when you wear three or more items from that set. Also, if you have gained passive skills in certain armor skill lines, you'll also get a larger bonus when you wear more armor of that type," Zenimax said in a response.

"And, of course, you may find an individual piece of armor with a bonus trait or enchantment you really like. There will be many choices about how you gear yourself in ESO, with no "right" choice for everyone."

The interview also answered a lot of questions regarding the Daggerfall Covenant faction, orcs and different locations that are thought to exist in the game, ScreenCrush.com reports.

The developer confirmed that players can adventure around the Alik'r Desert town of Tava's Blessing, which is the settlement that predates the city of Lainlyn, ScreenCrush.com also reports.

Orcs will also be named the Orsimer in Elder Scrolls Online and will be a playable race in the new game.

The developer of Elder Scrolls Online, has not announced an official release date for the game, but one analyst suggests that changes in DPS class can create an imbalance within the game.

"In the Elder Scrolls Online, this balance of power becomes an even greater challenge because builds have multiple trees to factor in. As I mentioned last week, each class has three possible combat trees, but armoring also has its trees, as does weaponry, and to a lesser extent, so does race. It's possible that there will be more, but those are the ones I'm sure of at this point," writes a Joystiq.com analyst.

"Because a player will be able to mix and match all these skills and active abilities, it makes it possible to have a class like the Nightblade (rogue), which is traditionally a DPS-only class, tank or maybe even heal. Not only that, but according to the commentary from the lifestream in August, a player may be able to switch roles in the middle of a fight simply by switching weapons. That, even by the the strictest definition, is a hybrid."
