Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix: Available For PS4, Xbox One? New Cinematic Scenes Point To Possible Next-Generation Compatibility

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix will feature a new "theatre mode" that includes cinematic sequences from the game re-mastered in high definition and will include new scenes, GamingBolt.com reports, leaving gamers wondering if the game will be available for next-generation consoles PS4 and Xbox One.

Cutscenes included in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix which lacked voice acting or instead used English voice acting will be using the original Japanese voice acting, GamingBolt.com also reports.

The game has captured the attention of gamers who are fans of the Square Enix series, but one critic suggests there was nothing special about the plot and gameplay.

"The story suffers not only from a lack of consistency (first you are forbidden to interfere from meddling in any of the worlds, then you continue to do so without reproach), but also an overreliance on tropes that the game wants to have meaning to the player, but fails to give them much," RochesterCityNewspaper.com writes.

"The entire light versus dark, heart versus heartless, key versus key hole versus door versus whatever excuse of a plot is generic, and thin on substance while thick in babble."

Square Enix will release a 2.5 version of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix if the game remains popular, Shinji Hashimoto, producer of the game's seriers, revealed to IGN.

"If everyone plays 1.5 HD Remix, if everyone likes it and everyone supports us, then 2.5 HD Remix could happen. So at this stage, we just have to encourage people to play 1.5 HD Remix!" Hashimoto told the website.

"The fact is that the main focus of the series is Sora and Riku; how their friendship develops, but also how they grow up - after so many years, the players' personal growth is closely tied to the game's story at this point, so that's the most important thing about the series and what we want to put into the game."

The release of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix has also prompted announcements as it relates to the release date of Kingdom Hearts 3.
