Grey's Anatomy Season 10: The Cast On 200th Episode, Shonda Rhimes On Potential Spin-Off

"Grey's Anatomy" season 10 is about to celebrate its 200th episode, and the cast and Shonda Rhimes have a lot to say about the occasion.

"It's truly remarkable and I'm grateful to the fans. I've said it a million times before: You can have the best show on TV, but if no one watches, they pull it off the air," says Ellen Pompeo to The Hollywood Reporter.

"We owe it all to the fans; all 200 episodes are all for them."

"We're all conscious of the 10 years and the 10 whole seasons; none of us are taking it for granted or taking it lightly. It feels like a big celebration season. The 200th episode's big gala parallels the celebratory feeling here," says Chandra Wilson.

But regarding "Grey's Anatomy" after 10 season, Shonda Rhimes hints that a potential spin-off could happen, though not for the foreseeable future.

"I've thought about that. Every once in a while, I come up with a crazy idea. When we did our war episode where we saw Owen's past and the history of his PTSD, I always thought that was an amazing world, with the idea of a MASH unit," says Shonda Rhimes.

"There are a lot of different worlds for a spinoff. Right now, 'Grey's' is doing its thing and doing it well, and we don't need another spinoff at this moment in time."

And with "Scandal" being a smash hit, "Grey's Anatomy" hitting season 10, does Shonda Rhimes have another fresh idea for a show?

"I have this new idea for a show, and it starts in my head and I'm trying to keep it there. I'm trying to focus on 'Grey's' and 'Scandal.' It's just that period of time where my brain starts clicking on something new again," admits Rhimes.

"I'm not going to say anything else because anything I say will get me a call from ABC saying, 'What's this idea? What can we do?' That's what keeps me up. It's trying to not make more shows."
