‘Beyond Two Souls’ Ellen Page Talks About Her Experience Filming A Video Game And ‘Intriguing’ Character Choices

"Beyond: Two Souls" features actress Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe as the main characters. It's a first for the 'Juno' star and she talks about her experience.

In an interview with Collider, Ellen page answer some relevant questions about her experience.

On why she took the project: "What appealed to me the most was this incredible character. I was moved by the story and so intrigued by David's work and video games in general. (Since the game allows many choices for the player) I was so intrigued as to what type of person would make certain choices. For example, heavy rain, what type of person would choose that."

Since she was a part of the game, the experience of playing it for the first time did not surprise her: "I'm a very tiny part of this project. This is the result of hundreds of people working for years. When I reported, there were no sets so I went it and did what I do(as an actress). I played the game and it was just exciting for me to see how it all came together, as with anybody else."

On the difference between filming a video game and filming a movie: "It was hard to make some changes on the script because the work (on the game) has been done. A lot of it is set in stone, basically."

The Official synopsis of the game: "Jodie Holmes (Page) has always been a little different. Aided by scientist Nathan Dawkins (Dafoe), she discovers a connection to a mysterious entity called Aiden with incredible powers, setting off a thrilling, globe-spanning journey to discover the truth about who she is. Told in a non-chronological narrative, BEYOND: Two Souls takes players on a journey spanning over 15 years of Jodie's life.  Experience the most striking moments of Jodie's life as your actions and decisions determine her fate. Throughout this epic journey, Jodie will face extraordinary challenges against a backdrop of emotionally-charged events never before seen in a video game."
