Nexus 5 Release Date Could Still Be October 15 After All, Claims UK Tech Site

When Android 4.4 Kit Kat was announced almost a month ago, a lot of fans have already been expecting the upcoming Nexus 5 release date. However, Google has been very silent regarding the official launch, though a bunch of rumors have been pointing to a release later this month. Apparently, that's not what a tech website heard from Google itself.

In a report by CNet UK, some of its bloggers have heard some 'whispers around the campfire at Google Launchpad', which points to an October 15 release date.

A year ago, Google cancelled its launch date for the Nexus 4 due to hurricane Sandy, and many of us believe that the company would definitely want to give special treatment to its new hero phone running on pure Android 4.4 Kit Kat. But if this rumor is true, then it would probably just send a press releases and not hold a full-blown press conference.

In recent reports this week, both Nokia and Apple are holding their respective events on October 22nd, which also leaves another reason why October 15th is a good date for Google. In doing so, it will get most of the attention to itself which is certainly beneficial for its marketing campaigns.

It's just a few days before Tuesday so let's just sit back, relax and wait for the next Nexus phone.
