Guardians of the Galaxy: It's A Wrap! Lee Pace Calls Ronan The Accuser 'A Psycho', Michael Rooker Calls Yondu 'A Cad'

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is done filming, with director James Gunn announcing in Twitter, "And after our last shot with @DaveBautista that's a full wrap on #GotG! It's been a long strange wonderful trip!"

But before filming had officially ended, members of the cast showed much excitement about the roles they portray.  In an interview with ClickOnline, Lee Pace who is cast as antagonist Ronan the Accuser, said, "He's a fucking psycho! He's a real monster."

"I've had the best time playing this character," he said about playing the alien.  "I'm glad it's all on film and I never thought I could be so nuts in it!"

The Hobbit actor added, "James Gunn is just putting together a phenomenal movie and I've had the best time working with him on it. And yea we've made a monster of an alien!"

Michael Rooker, who plays the blue-skinned intuitive Yondu, also has great things to say about the character he portrays.  He told Digital Spy, "...My guy Yondu is a bit of a cad, so I'm having a really good time playing the role."

"My make-up was fabulous! It was stunning, really. It's beautiful-it's really pretty amazing stuff. I'm just taken back by how talented the make-up artists are," he said.

Like Pace, Rooker also gives the director two thumbs up for the movie, saying, "He's there, he's very hands on, extremely there for the actor and trying to help in any way possible for us to make it believable and do the role justice. He's always there for us, it's pretty cool to be working with the guy again."

The story, set in the far reaches of the universe, centers around a team of superheroes composed of an American pilot and some out-of-this-world characters who must work together to defeat a powerful enemy. Written and directed by James Gunn, this film is a movie adaptation of the Marvel comics series of the same title.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the tenth instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following previous Marvel movies, namely: The Incredible Hulk (2008); Iron Man 1 (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), and Iron Man 3 (2013); Captain America The First Avenger (2011), Captain America The Winter Soldier (2014); Thor (2011), Thor The Dark World (2013); and Marvel's The Avengers (2012).  It will be followed by Marvel's The Avengers Age of Ultron (2015) and Ant-Man (2015).

Aside from Pace and Rooker, the film also stars Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill / Star-Lord, Vin Diesel as Groot, and Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon.

Also in the movie are Karen Gillan as Nebula, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Benicio del Toro as The Collector, John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, and Glenn Close as Nova Prime.

The film is set to be  released on August 1, 2014.
