'WIN' Teams A and B Attract a Crowd of Over 3,000 with Fan Meet - Popularity is Already 'Beyond Imagination'

YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk has definitely stumbled onto something huge.

The currently airing, agency produced reality competition show WIN: Who's Next is the company's way of determining who will be their next boy band to debut and over the past couple of weeks the show has gained a huge fan following.

The eleven company trainees may not officially be pop stars yet, but they already have proven their star quality after they attracted more than 3,000 people to their high touch fan meeting on October 12.

'High Touch with WIN' was held at Seoul's Yeongdeungpo Times Square at 2pm KST on October 12 and gave fans of the show an opportunity to get up close and personal with the contestants from teams A and B.

More than 1,000 of those fans arrived immediately after the venue opened early in the morning and another 2,000 showed up at the event's kick-off that afternoon.

The fans packed in around a circular stage and others filled in the the four floors above them to watch.

Many news outlets in Korea have remarked on how rare such a turnout is for pop stars before a debut, and are chalking the mass of fans to the survival show's popularity.

"Thank you for coming all the way here," expressed the members. "We are going to show you the best we've got. We hope you continue to support Teams A and B. We are preparing hard for the last battle, so stay tuned!"

One YG Entertainment rep told OSEN News after the high touch event, "There were so many fans that it almost got out of control. This is beyond imagination."

"It was certainly an opportunity to see how popular the boys are, even before their official debut," he continued. "We could not even hear the members talk even though we were standing right near the stage because of the loud cheering from the crowd."

WIN is set to determine who will be YG Entertainment's first male idol group to debut in seven years since the extremely successful group Big Bang first came out.
