Charlie Hunnam: His Girlfriend and 50 Shades of Grey Movie Role Exit

The initial casting of Charlie Hunnam as the lead male role in the movie adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey" gathered a lot of attention online. Now, the British actor's exit from the movie project is getting even more attention on social media.

He dropped out of the role merely weeks after being chosen to play the role of an S&M fetishist.

The 33-year-old star said that he has too much of an "immersive TV schedule" to be able to prepare for the role. It is not yet known who will replace him in what is expected to be a hit movie due to the book's popularity.

A source close to the hunky star was told entertainment reporters,"The attention and the pressure was intense. More than anything he hates attention and being in Fifty Shades of Grey would force him to do lots of media. That's really not his thing. Charlie doesn't want to be massively famous. Plus, he hates conforming and being told what to do. This role would force him to have to be something he is not."

The actor's girlfriend of over 6 years, Morgana McNelis, is a jewelry designer. She has her own line called "Maison de Morgana" that focuses on mixed metal jewelry. The beautiful couple have been dating since 2007.

Just like his shyness when it comes to his career and the limelight, Hunnam too has kept his romantic life away from the public as much as possible. The duo have been seen at red-carpet events for the past few years but they don't provide tabloid news with much material.

The handsome actor stars in the hit TV series "Sons of Anarchy" and that keeps him busy nowadays.

Universal Pictures, the studio who owns the movie rights to "Fifty Shades of Grey", said through an official spokesperson,"The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam's immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey,"
