Pokemon X And Y Walkthrough [SPOILERS]: Who Is AZ, And How Is He Related To Yveltal, Xerneas, And Mega Evolution?

Pokemon X and Y have been released, and a mysterious figure by the name of AZ has received a lot of attention in the walkthrough of the games and fans alike.

Throughout Pokemon X and Y, AZ appears four times, and his backstory is slowly revealed. So here is a walkthrough of AZ. Warning: SPOILERS AHEAD.

The first encounter of AZ is on Route 13, where AZ asks around about a Flower Pokemon which was given eternal life. The rumor is that he has been walking around for 3,000 years.

The second encounter, according to the Serebii walkthrough, is inside Lysandre Labs], where AZ is being held captive. Lysandre believes AZ is a king from 3,000 years ago, whose Floette was killed in a war. The legend is the king created a machine to give Floette life again, but his rage eventually made him turn the machine into a weapon.

In X and Y, Lysandre is attempting to use this "weapon" to keep Kalos forever beautiful, but AZ implores the weapon not be used again.

After you become the Champion, AZ challenges you in Lumiose City. After you defeat him, AZ thanks you for making him come to terms with his past, and his Floette appears from out of the sky!

So what exactly is AZ talking about when referring to the weapon?

According to various forums, Pokemon X and Y is actually centered around AZ, as he is responsible for creating Yveltal (or Xerneas, depending on your version)!

And based on various walkthrough accounts, he is also responsible for creating Mega Evolution, and Lucario is the first Mega Pokemon ever in history!
