iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 Release Date Made Official As Apple Sends Press Invites

While we already know that Apple is having an event on the 22nd, a press invite sent yesterday confirms the iPad 5, iPad mini 2 release date. In a report by GSM Arena, Apple has sent invites to media and analysts to take part in their October 22 event. 

While Apple made no confirmation whether the two devices will be launched on the same day, the iPad 5 will most likely be the main star of the event. 

But because Apple launched its previous iPad 4 and iPad mini simultaneously a year ago, it makes perfect sense that the Cupertino company will do the same for the event this year. 

However, previous reports from Reuters said that Apple mini 2 production has encountered some supply problems, and that official release may come as far as early next year. 

The Apple event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco on Oct. 22 at 10am PST.
