Lenovo Tablet Announced, Boasts 8" Display, Windows 8.1 And Quadcore Processor For Only $299

Last year, Lenovo was named the top PC maker, ousting HP from the position it held for several years. This year, the Chinese manufacturer is poised to get into the top 10 mobile phone makers for 2013 with releases from high-end models to modest devices, all priced aggressively. The new Lenovo tablet exemplifies this.

In a report by TechnoBuffalo, Lenovo annnounced the Miix2 yesterday, which boasts an 8-inch display, 2GB of RAM and the new Windows 8.1 OS out of the box.

Initially, the manufacturer has teased several images of the Miix2 earlier this year, but opted to wait for Microsoft's Windows 8.1 update. But priced at an incredibly low price of $299, this is certainly a sure buy for consumers who want an affordable Windows-powered slate.

Aside from the 8-inch display with 1280x800p resolution, it also has a quadcore Intel Trail Bay Trail processor, 32GB of storage, a 5-megapixel shooter, and a 2MP front camera. Buyers may also get an optional stylus for about $20.

In case you want more memory, you can get a 64GB version that will set you back for $349, which is still affordable by industry standards.

The Chinese manufacturer has definitely upped its game this year, and recent rumors regarding an HTC acquisition will surely boost the company's build quality in upcoming releases.
