Nina Dobrev, Derek Hough Break Up After Only Six Weeks Of Dating- Here's Why

Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough were dating, but have already broken up.

After splitting from Ian Somerhalder, "The Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev started dating Derek Hough. The union didn't last long, however.

Hough , 28, and Dobrev, 24, went on their first public date at Universal Studios' Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights in Los Angeles just under two weeks ago. Now, however, they've decided the whole boyfriend-girlfriend thing has already "played itself out,"

Hough and Dobrev have only been dating for six weeks, but "the distance was too much to handle", a source said.

Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough seemed like the perfect couple...but the romance fizzled due to distance, sources close to the couple said.

Dobrev is filming "The Vampire Diaries" in Atlanta, while Hough is in L.A. filiming his own project, "Dancing With The Stars."

 "[Nina] was hanging a lot with Derek's sister Julianne," a source said. "Then she fell for him."
