Fran Drescher Dating `The Man Who Pretended to Invent Email’; Spams Red Carpet With Younger Boyfriend

Fran Drescher’s new boyfriend is the younger inventor of email, Shiva Ayyadurai.

Fran Drescher, the 59-year-old star of “Happily Divorced” and “The Nanny,” went to the premiere of the new movie “Bridegrooms” with her new boyfriend. Fran Drescher hit the red carpet with tech entrepreneur Shiva Ayyadurai.

Fran Drescher’s new boyfriend didn’t invent electronic messaging. When Siva Ayyadura, 49, was in high school in the late 1970s, he came up with the term "email." At least he holds the copyright to the computer program known as “EMAIL,” according to the Washington Post.

In a March 2012 article, the online tech gadget magazine Gizmodo called Ayyadurai "the man who pretended to invent email."

That all went into the spam folder Tuesday night when Fran Drescher and Shiva Ayyadurai went to see “Bridegrooms” at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

“Happily Divorced” the TV Land sitcom that Fran Drescher developed and stars in, is based on her own experiences. Fran Drescher Happily Divorced from Peter Mark Jacobson, who came out as gay after the couple got married.

A witness told Us Weekly that Drescher and Ayyadurai were "very affectionate" during the screening.

Fran Drescher told Us Weekly "I don't think we've decided yet but we know what we're doing. We've got some really good parties to go to and Iron & Wine, which is one of my favorite bands, is playing down at the Orpheum so we're gonna be doing all that."
