‘Guardians of The Galaxy’ [RUMOR] Vin Diesel Is Not Groot? Is He Thanos? Bloggers Foil His ‘Misdirection’ Tactics; Does He Actually Have A Bigger Role

Having 48 million Facebook followers will allow you to sway some direction. Vin Diesel has smartly been using his social media power to mislead the sleuthing bloggers.

The element of surprise and shocking plot/character twists are what make comic books a timeless medium. That is a facet they hope to bring in the billion dollar comic book movies. However, it is not as easy as it sounds. While comic book writers and illustrators only need closed rooms, movies of that magnitude require elaborate set locations and various movements of actors that are always tracked by the entertainment writers. It's almost impossible to hide.

That is why Marvel is using a different tactic. They have already had their beef with rumor sleuth site Latino Review for spilling the Guardians project. Now the Guardians guys want to be more secretive. If you can't stop them from following you, why not lead them in the wrong direction?

Is Vin Diesel (on Marvel's instructions) misleading us? (Some points raised by The Guardian.com)Remember that "Guardians of the Galaxy" is Marvel's most risky project. These heroes are not household names in any way. Thus, Marvel needs to trumpet their big star signings. Vin Diesel is arguably the biggest star involved in the project, only Bradley Cooper can contend. Marvel has gloriously announced Cooper as Rocket Raccoon and Zoe Saldana as Gamora. Vin Diesel as Groot was never announced, except for Diesel mentioning in an interview.

Diesel has used the tree like alien as his profile on his Facebook page and released a video of his supposed 'motion capture' days ago. He also mentioned that his role was only eight minutes long. A little too revealing for a studio that wants to keep secrets, don't you think?

Further speculation is that he is Thanos. Marvel exec Kevin Feige has hinted that Thanos will be featured in the film. Comic readers know that the Guardians were specifically assembled to thwart Thanos' plans. And because of "The Avengers" ending, we know Thanos will be in the Marvel Cinmatic Universe.

Will it take 8 minutes to say "I am Groot?" Let's ask the Fast And Furious star.
