Upcoming Windows Tablets 2013: Qualcomm Says Nokia's Lumia 2520 Beats Microsoft's Surface 2

Nokia launched the Lumia 2520 tablet a week ago, and many were impressed that it was able to launch such a high-end device. Unfortunately, it borrows too many similarities from the Surface 2 slate, which also runs Windows RT. In spite the similarities, A Qualcomm exec says the Nokia slate is one of the more innovative upcoming Windows tablets for 2013, even better than Microsoft's own.

According to CNET, Qualcomm's product management senior vice president Raj Talluri considers the Lumia 2520 as superior compared to the Surface 2 in terms of GPU and other specifications.

To make things even more interesting, Talluri thinks that the Lumia 2520 is so 'brilliant' that "it's not really a contest" between the two Windows RT-powered slates.

According to BGR, the huge complement does not come as a surprise due to the fact that Qualcomm supplies the parts for the Lumia 2520, while the Surface 2 relies on NVIDIA's Tegra 4 chipset.

Still, it is nice to see that there is still competition in the Windows RT category, if not between two companies which would soon become one.
