Sherlock Season 3: Post-Production Continues For Episode 3 As Fans Anticipate Full BBC Promotion In Coming Months

"Sherlock" fans everywhere are rejoicing that a U.S. premiere date has been confirmed for season 3, but things are anything but settled as far as post-production and the BBC air date.

"They're fantastic," says "Masterpiece" executive producer Rebecca Eaton of the new "Sherlock" season 3 episodes. "They are jaw dropping. They are like small movies. Benedict and Martin are so in their Sherlock-Watson groove. They are so comfortable with that relationship it's like being in the room with them."

"We are hugely excited about this next series of 'Sherlock,' and have worked closely with our partners, 'Masterpiece' and PBS, to bring these episodes to U.S. audiences in January. We promise our fans that Season 3 is worth waiting for," adds "Sherlock" executive producer Sue Vertue.

While "Sherlock" season 3 will premiere on PBS January 19, post-production is not yet complete, at least for episode 3.

As fans know, episode 3 recently finished filming the beginning of September, and according to season 3 cast member Amanda Abbington, work is still being done such as automatic dialog replacement (ADR), also known as looping.

And now, all eyes are peeled to a premiere date for the BBC, since the network has exclusive right to air "Sherlock" season 3 before PBS.

Many fans, like Sherlockology, are expecting the full promotion of the series to begin shortly as well.

So, only time will tell if "Sherlock" season 3 will premiere earlier, or perhaps in 2013, depending on when BBC decides to begin promotions.

Stay tuned!
