Is Taylor Swift dating Alexander Skarsgard? According to Taylor Swift's rep, the dating and boyfriend rumors surrounding Taylor Swift and her "The Giver" co-star Alexander Skarsgard are not true.

"[They're] completely fabricated," Taylor's rep said of the rumors, Heat World reports. "Taylor never met Alexander before she arrived in South Africa and they're not dating."

Rumors about Taylor Swift dating Alexander Skarsgard - and adding the much-older actor to her list of boyfriends (she's 23 and he's 37) - started circulating when Taylor and Alexander were spotted dining together in South Africa. However, it appears to have been just a friendly meal between co-stars after their first day of shooting in South Africa for the film "The Giver." No new boyfriends over here.

Even though Taylor Swift has been referred to as a "serial dater" after her numerous relationships with Hollywood A-listers, Taylor has expressed being completely happy with her single status, following her break up from One Direction singer Harry Styles in January.

Last month, Swift confided that it was actually easier for her to not be in a relationship right now. "Right now is easy because I'm single and happy, and it's very relaxing."

Taylor Swift reportedly plays The Giver's daughter in the film adaptation of Lois Lowry's 1993 dystopian young adult novel, E! News reports.

Her costars include Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes, Jeff Bridges, Brenton Thwaites, Cameron Monaghan.

In fact, E! News reports that Katie Holmes was also present at the dinner that sparked the Taylor Swift and Alexander Skarsgard dating rumors. It's starting to sound less and less like date night!

Another interesting fact of the night: it appears Taylor has gone brunette for her role; she was spotted with brown, curly locks on Sunday, Oct. 20, in Cape Town, South Africa.
