Minecon 2013 Update: Mojang Announces Partnership With Twitch To Allow In-Game Streaming Of Minecraft On PC And Mac

Mojang partners with Twitch so Minecraft players can easily share their in-game content.

Minecon 2013 was filled with exciting announcements from the indie game developer. In fact, one of the biggest revelations made during Minecon 2013 is the partnership between the creator of Minecraft, Mojang and a streaming service, Twitch. This deal will enable the players "to stream content on Twitch directly from in the game," according to The Verge.

It was also announced at Minecon 2013 that this latest feature will be available for Minecraft PC and Mac version. No specific date yet was shared but Twitch said that Minecraft PC and Mac players should expect the in-game streaming soon. Matthew DiPietro, the Vice President for Twitch Marketing told, "Minecraft has struck a very powerful chord with the Twitch community."

Further, according to The Verge post, Minecraft is one of the most popular games on Twitch, even if it does not have built-in functionality yet. That's it why the streaming service company is expecting that this Minecraft's popularity will grow once the new feature becomes available. DiPietro further shared, "Expect a watershed moment for both players and spectators once the ability to easily broadcast gameplay directly to Twitch goes live."

As for more announcements during Minecon 2013, Mojang, Bethesda and Microsoft Studios also revealed that there will be "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" Mash-up Pack for the Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition. The press release, as posted aginggothmom.tumblr.com reads, "The new pack will be transforming the world of 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim' into the pixelated look of Minecraft.

 

Furthermore, the press release reads, "Developed by 4J Studios, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" Mash-Up  features an exclusive Skyrim-themed texture set, 40 character skins, themed menus and user interface, craftable items, and more than 20 iconic selections  from "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" original game soundtrack."

Minecon 2013 started Saturday, November 2 at Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida and ended today, November 3.
