Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date: Available for Playstation 4, Tetsuya Nomura Confirms Next-Generation Development For Series

Kingdom Hearts 3 developer Tetsuya Nomura revealed during a recent interview that the game will definitely be available for next-generation console Playstation 4.

"Kingdom Hearts" was first built with the brush-like quality in mind; however the console technology could not yet support it, according to Nomura.

"Ever since the first game, we've strived for a Disney-like brush quality in the graphic gradations."

He also revealed that Keyblade in the game will transform into different types of weapons depending on the kind of Keyblade, Polygon.com reports.

"This is the first gameplay footage of Kingdom Hearts 3 that we've released, but [the game] is still nowhere near a state that the staff is satisfied with, so we're going to continue to strive to improve the quality," he told the website.

The video game designer also discussed the game's newest trailer which displays new character abilities and mentioned that Sora's trademark weapon can transform into two guns.

Earlier this week, he gave many gamers hope about the return of Roxas and Ventus for the upcoming title.

Nomura mentioned that was "curious to see what will happen" when asked about the return of the two aforementioned characters.

Roxas appeared in the prologue sequence of Kingdom Hearts 2, the ending of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts 356/2 Days while Ventus was seen in the secret ending of Kingdom Hearts 2 and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep.

Kingdom Hearts 3 will be published by Square Enix with Disney Interactive Studios handling the distribution duties at the company's Osaka branch.
