Upcoming Windows Phone 2013: Huawei Announces The Ascend W2 Aimed At 'Value-Savvy' Consumers, Features Dual-Core CPU, 5MP Shooter

If you are a Windows Phone fan and you are running out of affordable options, then here is an upcoming Windows Phone in 2013 that may pique your interest. Introducing the Huawei Ascend W2.

As a successor to the successful Ascend W1, this one seems to borrow its design from Nokia's highly popular Lumia 520. In fact, it also comes in identical color options which would surely be a hit for teenagers and budget-conscious smartphone users.

The phone boasts mediocre specs such as a 4.3" IPS LCD display with WVGA resolution, a Snapdragon MSM8230 chipset, dual-core Krait CPU clocked at 1.4Ghz, Adreno 305 GPU, and an uninspiring 512MB of RAM.

In case you love taking camera shots with your phone, the Ascend W2 also boasts a 5MP rear camera. It is powered by a 1,700mAh battery.

While the Ascend W2 is already available in China, the international version is expected to hit Russia and the Netherlands before the year ends.

The pricing is expected to be entry-level, though no specific retail price has been announced yet.
