Girls' Generation Win At YouTube Music Awards Prompts Fan Wars And Racist Comments: Fans Defend And Inform As Bashing Tweets Are Compiled To Shine Light On Ignorance

Girls' Generation may be a K-Pop girl group popular across globe, but their win at the YouTube Music Awards still managed to bring out fan wars, racism, and the worst of Twitter.

Several publications, including Kotaku and PopDust, have already compiled a long string of hate-filled vitriol towards Girls' Generation after the group beat out the likes of Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and Lady Gaga for the "Video of the Year" award.

"Girls' Generation won Video of the Year and now many butthurt idiots come here to complain," writes Vanss95 on YouTube of the video "I Got A Boy," for which Girls' Generation won the award.

And while the Korean ladies are receiving a lot of ignorant and racist comments, the upside is that just as many, if not more fans are stepping up to defend and inform those who have never heard of the girls.

Just take a look at this YouTube video below:

And now, K-Pop fans all over the world are stepping up to shine a light on the racist comments and defend Girls' Generation against those who are bashing them.

"Not a big SNSD fan but I still think they are great and also as a K-pop fan, I'm glad they won the YouTube 'Video of the Year Award.' As this is a world award I think this is a great achievement for the girls and for K-pop in general," writes a YouTuber.
