Yuna Kim To Compete At The Golden Spin In Zagreb In December As The Grand Prix Figure Skating Season Continues

After suffering a metatarsal injury in her right foot, Olympic figure skating champion Yuna Kim is nearly ready to get at to competition ice, starting with The Golden Spin in Zagreb.

"I've recovered a lot from the injury, and I have chosen this competition after reviewing my options," says Yuna Kim according to NBC.

"I will prepare hard and get satisfying results."

Due to her injury, Yuna Kim will miss the current ongoing figure skating Grand Prix season, which sees some of her biggest rivals like Mao Asada and Carolina Kostner debuting their programs and honing their elements.

For her short program, Yuna Kim will skate to "Send in the Clowns" from the musical "A Little Night Music" by Stephen Sondheim.

"('Send in the Clowns') is sung by a woman who misses her lover who left," says Kim.

"At the first time I heard it, I wanted to perform with this song sometimes."

The last memorable performance using this music is from the 2010 Olympic Games by German pairs team Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy for their short program.

In addition, Yuna Kim will use "Adios Nonino" by Astor Piazzolla, choreographed by David Wilson.

"This is my last competition program as a player (skater), and I'm so happy that I chose the song that I've always wanted to do. I'll try my best to show as great performance as fans are expecting from me."

The Golden Spin in Zagreb will be held from Decenber 5 to December 8, where Yuna Kim will make her debut of her Olympic programs before the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
