If Holmes joins the cast of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, she would star alongside Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey, and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele. Fans of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" book will know that Ana and Elena don't get along, mainly because Ana believes Elena took advantage of a young Christian Grey when introducing him to her world of sexual endeavors.

IB Times reports that since her split from Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes has been keeping a lower profile in Hollywood. Perhaps getting cast in "Fifty Shades of Grey" would be her comeback to the silver screen.

Luke Grimes was recently cast as Christian Grey's older brother, and Victor Rasuk as Ana's friend Jose, The Examiner reports.

The movie, which will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, is set to hit cinemas in the US in August 2014. It will begin production this December.

The original book, written by EL James, was the fastest selling book of 2012 and has sold more than 70 million copies worldwide.
