Rockstar North To Receive 2 Awards In Scotland For GTA V's Huge Success

In September, Rockstar North made huge waves with its Grand Theft Auto 5 release, and now it gets recognized in its home country. In a report by The Scotsman, the Scottish company will be receiving not one, but two awards in two different events next week. 

The two award-giving bodies, BAFTA Scotland and the Scottish Style Awards will be paying tribute to the game developer's efforts in releasing the world's fastest selling entertainment product. Aside from that, GTA V also smashed 5 more previous records as far as sales is concerned. 

"We are delighted to present a Special Award for 2013 to Rockstar North in recognition of the creative excellence and international success of Grand Theft Auto V", BAFTA Scotland acting director Alan de Pellette said. The event will be held on Novemberr 17. 

Meanwhile, Scottish Style Awards founder Mary McGowne said " "We will be honouring Rockstar North with a special event at our event on Saturday for outstanding output in their creative field and the profound impact the company has had around the world." 

In a span of two months, GTA V has become the most played console game on the planet with millions of players worldwide and billions of dollars in revenue. An upcoming GTA V PC version is still under way, and may see the light of day by Summer next year according to rumors.
