Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo Can’t Wait To Pass Her Crown; ‘From The Outside In, It Looks Glamorous, But From The Inside Out, It’s Not,’ Warns The Exhausted Beauty Queen

Reigning Miss Universe Olivia Culpo will be giving away her crown on November 9 at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia. While many are wondering whether the beauty queen feels sad now that her reign is over,  Culpo appears to be relieved.

In an interview with the Providence Journal, the 21-year-old beauty declares what she wants to do after passing the crown: "At this point I'm so exhausted, I'll say I need at least a month at home."

She adds that having such great responsibility is not easy: "From the outside in, it looks glamorous, but from the inside out, it's not as glamorous as you might think."

When Culpo won the coveted title in 2012, she was still a freshman in Boston University. Apart from her academic duties, being the Miss Universe required her to promote several advocacies worldwide. She served as the spokeswoman of campaigns raising HIV/AIDS awareness. She likewise spearheaded activities for various organizations including God's Love We Deliver, Gay Men's Health Crisis, and Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

On top of her beauty queen duties, she started dating pop star Nick Jonas which even made her more prone to public scrutiny. Last month, Culpo got into a controversy after allegedly breaking India's heritage act.

Such accusation came from an unauthorized photo shoot which mandated her to promote a particular brand of shoes while using the famed Taj Mahal as the backdrop.  If found guilty, Culpo and her team might serve two years in jail as well as pay nearly $2,000 for the penalty.

Culpo defends herself by saying that she initially disliked the photo shoot for it was "inappropriate".  Despite the challenges that come with nabbing the world's most treasured beauty title, Culpo remains thankful: "I'm sure I'll be grateful for the experience in ways I can't even fathom at this point because I'm still living it."

After the Miss Universe 2013 pageant, Culpo plans to continue her studies while acting for films.  She recently starred in the Russian version of 'Amor', a music video based on the song of Azerbaijani singer, Emin.

The music video was released last October 28, a week before the Miss Universe 2013 coronation which includes 86 delegates coming from different parts of the globe.
