As "Sherlock" fans hype over the upcoming premiere of season 3 on January 19 for PBS, a lucky few can actually catch "The Empty Hearse" on December 15 at the British Film Institute (BFI)!

Although a BBC premiere air date has not been announced, "Sherlock" season 3 will have its very first public screening at BFI on December 15 at 1:00pm.

"Two years after the devastating events of 'The Reichenbach Fall', John appears to have got on with his life. New horizons and romance beckon," says the official description on the website.

"But, with London under threat of a devastating terrorist attack, Sherlock is about to take John at his word, staging his resurrection with all the theatricality that comes so naturally to him. If Sherlock thinks everything will be just as he left it, though, he's in for a very big surprise..."

So, not only will "Sherlock" season 3 have a massive time jump, but it will also deal with a terrorist threat! And, it seems a Q&A featuring the cast and crew will follow the screening.

Be sure to check out the official website for the premiere screening here, however, according to recent visitors, tickets appear to be sold out already. Aw...

On top of that, the first teaser image of "Sherlock" season 3 featuring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman has been unveiled.

No doubt an effort to gain hype for the season 3 premiere, this image has many fans eagerly anticipating the Sherlock and Watson reunion.
