‘Glee’ Spinoff Series To Be Created? ‘Glee’ Already Showing ‘Signs Of Ageing’, Reinvention Needed

Recognizing that 'Glee' isn't drawing a significant number of viewers anymore as opposed to its heyday, the creators of the hit musical series are reportedly working on a new project which will primarily involve Lea Michele's character.

According to Radar Online, co-creator Ryan Murphy and his team are now seeing the show's "signs of ageing". For this reason, they are planning to create a new spinoff series: "They're making the deals now and it also presents a viable exit plan for the main Glee series itself - in that some of its core cast would also migrate to the Lea Michele project as Glee is showing signs of ageing."

The spinoff show will allegedly focus on Rachel Berry's life and how she's able to cope up with the death of her boyfriend, Finn Hudson. 'Glee' has lost part of its charm when Cory Monteith died after a toxic drug and alcohol overdose last July. The viewers feel that without Monteith, the show is lacking since his role was very pivotal.

However, a representative from Fox denied that no spinoff series will be created. Back in 2011, the creators of the show already planned to create a spinoff series based on the characters of Rachel Berry, Finn Hudson, and Kurt Hummel but the plan has been terminated.  "We were actively talking to actors, we were actively writing, we were actively getting ready to pitch. OK, here's the three actors, and they want to do it, so here's the story for them. Now that that has collapsed," says Murphy.

While Michele might not be playing a lead role in the alleged spinoff series, she is preoccupied doing things that can pay tribute to her late beau. The 27-year-old actress recently recorded a song entitled "If I Say So". The brunette beauty deems the words meaningful for they were the final words she heard from Monteith before he died.

In the upcoming issue of Elle magazine, Michele similarly talks about how she copes with the tragic fate of Monteith: "I feel like I'm starting to just sink in it, and he would never want me to do that. I need to remember that you have to live, because you can want to die."
