Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 News, Update: 12.2-Inch Tablet By Samsung Expected To Be Unveiled Feb. 2014 At Mobile World Congress, Production Begins End of 2013

Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 is about to break the barrier on 10-11 inch tablets. Following the release of the 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 3, an even larger note is in the works by the South Korean tech giant that is tipped to be unveiled February next year at the Mobile World Congress.

According to Trusted Reviews, Samsung is determined to hit ever form factor touch point from the 3-inch phablets to laptop-size tablets and everything in between in their quest to maintain its dominance as the world’s leading mobile device manufacturer. DigiTimes, citing Taiwan-based sources in Samsung’s supply chain reports that Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 will enter production later this year.

Consumer Electronics Show will be the first biggest tech event next year, but many don’t believed that the large consumer tablet will be unveiled there next year.

The tablet market’s biggest players have currently pegged 10.1-inch as the maximum size for their offerings. Samsung has the Galaxy Note 10.1 for this market, but it is believed that the company is making the jump to 12.2-inch tablets to attract more enterprise users. The move of the company to make this big a tablet is expected to have a herd effect, with other tablet manufacturers following the Samsung’s lead.

Specs for the rumored device include 3GB of RAM, 8MP camera and 32 GB internal storage. Some reports suggest it will have Android 4.3 out of the box, while others say it will have the latest Android OS, the Android 4.4 KitKat.

This is not the first time the Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 was rumored. Moveplayer right after the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Gear released a render of a 12.2-inch tablet with the Samsung device. Reports have also shown a SM-P905 12.2-inch Samsung device have been spotted in Bluetooth SIG filings.
