Miss Universe 2013 Favorites, Predictions: Miss Philippines Ariella Arida Remains A Top Contender Despite Disappointing Evening Gown And National Costume Attires!
Miss Universe 2013 Favorite, Miss Philippines Ariella Arida, continues to mesmerize fans just a day before the coronation night.
Despite the controversy she was involved in just as the competition started as well as the disappointing attires she wore during the preliminary rounds, Miss Philippines Ariella Arida still wins the hearts of many.
During the National Costume and Preliminary Evening Gown competitions held last November 3, 2013, Ariella Arida gave a rather “disappointing” show to her fans.
The traditional terno dress that she wore during the National Costume competition [See pics below] disappointed many of her fans. Some fans even commented on why a foreigner designed her outfit.
Arida made another disappointing show during the preliminary Evening Gown competition. Arida wore a yellow, off-shoulder gown didn’t win the hearts of her fans either.
One fan wrote on twitter, “The way ariella arida walks n smile so damn awkward. Her yellow gown on prelim is so ugh ugly.. Oh well still gudluck ms. Ph (Miss Philippiliments).”
Another comment said, “The yellow gown is dashing but not captivating.”
Despite these negative remarks, Arida remains one of the top bets who will take this year’s Miss Universe crown.
Norman’s Blog, a dedicated blogger about pageants, Miss Philippines Ariella Arida is on the top four spot for the blog’s top 16 predictions.
Au.IBTimes also made their own predictions and including Miss Philippines to one of their predictions. According to site, “As predicted Ariella Arida has become one of the hot picks for Miss Universe 2013 crown. She reminds us of Sushmita Sen, and she is definitely gorgeous.”
The Rappler also gave their reasons why Miss Philippines should win the crown.
According to the website, Ariella, or Ara, is a top favorite because of the following reasons:
“Major sponsors love her, her web interview has the most views, and she overcame the controversy.”

Miss Philippines Ariella Arida also won the Ice Princess Glam Shot.
On top of that, Missology, a popular pageant website, also picked Ara as one of their 18 hotpicks for this year’s crown.
