Tiger Woods Turkey: Golf Champion Can Drive The Ball Across Two Continents! His Power Drove His Game To Shoot A 63 At Turkish Airlines Open [Video]

Tiger Woods does the unthinkable – hit the ball in Europe and lands it in Asia. For a publicity stunt for the Turkish Airlines Open in Turkey wherein PGA tour golfers will play, the four time Masters champion hit the ball on a make-shift tee box across the Bosphorus Bridge which is also known as the fourth longest bridge in the world.

“To be the first golfer to do this was very cool,” the only non-European player in the tournament, said in a release. “I have really enjoyed my visit to Istanbul. To see the Bosphorus for the first time was a very enjoyable and memorable experience.”

The said bridge in Turkey links Europe to Asia.

Meanwhile, after playing bad first round which was halted by a rain delay, Woods came back and finished with a 63 for the second round of the tournament driving him up one shot behind leaders Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson, Victor Dubuisson and Justin Walters who has a 12-under score.

''I played a little better certainly this afternoon and made some putts, so that was fine,'' Wood said. ''It was a round that could have been really special. But I am right there, and I am only one back.''

Tiger looks to better in the next couple of rounds taking advantage of the great and rather easy course.

''It's a bunched leaderboard, so we are going to have to continue to go low over the weekend given the way the golf course is playing and how soft it is,'' he said. ''It is so receptive and slow and it lends itself to a lot of birdies.''

Tiger completed the rest of the 7 and a half holes which was delayed from the first round finishing with a 70 before playing another 18 holes for his second round score early Monday.
