The Tottenham Hotspurs will face off against rival Newcastle United on Sunday, placing two of the English Premier League's closely followed teams against each other.
The Tottenham Hotspurs, coming out of a 0-0 tie with Everton, is expected to be the favorite in the match.
Spurs Manager André Villas-Boas said Erik Lamela is starting to show his worth for the team.
"We were waiting for a good performance from him and I think we got it today," Villas-Boas said, according to The Express.
"We have been patient with him and he has delivered with a game in which he had no fear, took people on and created a lot."
Newcastle United, coming out of a 2-0 victory over Chelsea, is slated as the underdog in the match but is rumored to give the Tottenham Hotspurs a good game.
Newcastle United Manager Alan Pardew said he wants to sign Tottenham Hotspurs striker Jermain Defoe for the team this summer.
"It is tough, and tough on Spurs, but the advantage they have over us last year is numbers, quality numbers and experience as well," Pardew said, according to The Mirror.
"As a squad, they have a lot more experience of Europe than we had, and that goes for the staff as well. That gives them a slightly stronger hand. But hopefully it should help us, and I am not going to say that it doesn't."
