Lea Michele’s Debut Album To Include A Tribute Song Based On Cory Monteith’s Last Words; ‘When I Think Of Him, I Play This,’ Says ‘Glee’ Actress

In her upcoming debut solo album, Lea Michele made sure that she'd still pay tribute to her late boyfriend, Cory Monteith. The song will be aptly called 'You're Mine'.

In an interview with E! Online, Michele detailed her feelings for the song: "It makes me think so much of Cory. It was ours. When I think of him, I play this."

While the song did not make the album cut, Michele still seized the opportunity fearing that she might have regrets if she didn't include the track.  "The album was done, and the label said, 'Do you want to add anything? I was like, 'I might regret it if I don't,'" the 27-year-old singer said.

The song was written by Michele together with the assistance of Australian songwriter Sia. Michele based the song on Monteith's last words for her - "If you say so." To immortalize such words, Michele had them tattooed on her rib cage.

Since Monteith's tragic death in July, the 'Glee' actress continuously remembers him using her own little ways. For the Finn Hudson memorial episode of 'Glee', Michele recorded a rendition of Bob Dylan and Adele's 'Make You Feel My Love'. In the said episode, she likewise wore a necklace bearing Finn's name. She likewise owns the same necklace off-screen but with Monteith's real name, Cory.

While she has not yet revealed the official release date of her debut album, she previously posted a few photographs from the album cover's shoot.

Michele and Monteith were together for more than a year when the 31-year-old actor was found unconscious in his hotel room in Vancouver. He died due to a toxic combination of heroin and alcohol.

Regardless of how painful the death is, Michele acknowledges the fact that she has to move on because Monteith wouldn't want her to wallow in sadness. "I need to remember that you have to live, because you can want to die," says the New York-born actress.
