NFL Bullying - Richie Incognito Says Locker Room Culture To Blame; Miami Dolphins Guard Claims He Is Victim’s Best Bro

After Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito was given an indefinite suspension for harassing teammate Jonathan Martin, the beleaguered guard airs his side of the story.

Jonathan Martin has complained about Incognito. In a statement released (from Pro Football Talk) by Martin's lawyer David Cornwell: "Beyond the well-publicized voice mail with its racial epithet, Jonathan endured a malicious physical attack on him by a teammate, and daily vulgar comments such as the quote at the bottom. These facts are not in dispute."

Aside from a 'racist voicemail,' the statement bares that there was more incidents of harassment that went beyond the usual 'hazing' in the locker rooms. The statement quoted  threats of sexual assault on Martin's sister:

"We are going to run train on your sister. . . . She loves me. I am going to f-k her without a condom and c** in her c***."

It was not specified which teammate made the statement. There was also no evidence (text/voicemail/recording) to support the claim.

However, after the suspension was announced, an overwhelming show of support for Incognito was given by his teammates.

They portrayed Incognito as the 'big brother' who simply kept them 'in-line.'

Incognito, in an interview with Fox Sports, revealed that such language were common in their workplace (the locker room) and was part of their 'tough guy' routine. Something even Martin himself practices. He reveals:

"A week before this went down, Jonathan Martin texted me on my phone, 'I will murder your whole F'ing family.' Now, do I think Jonathan Martin was going to murder my family? Not one bit. He texted me that. I didn't think he was going to kill my family. I knew that was coming from a brother. I knew it was coming from a friend. I knew it was coming from a teammate."

"You can ask anybody in the Miami Dolphins' locker room who had Jon Martin's back the absolute most, and they will undoubtedly tell you [it was me]. Jon never showed signs that football was getting to him [or] the locker room was getting to him."
