Russell Westbrook Fight: OKC Guard And Nene Leaves The Game With Two Technical Fouls For Shoving, Ejection Was Crucial For Wizard’s Defeat? [WATCH IT HERE]

Nene and Russell Westbrook were ejected in last Sunday’s game for shoving. The two left the playing court in the fourth quarter with a comfortable 10-point lead 93-83 for the Wizards.

The Thunder guard drove the ball and was called for a charge after bumping in to Al Harrington, when Nene gave Westbrook a little nudge that brought him on the floor and as a result retaliated by shoving Nene which caused the commotion.

Following this scene, was Kevin Durant’s barrage of baskets to take the game to overtime which where they won the game 106-105.

The Thunder came back as a team after the altercation late in the fourth quarter as OKC coach Scott Brooks was pleased with what his team did to extend the game and finished it in overtime.

“That was definitely a resilient win,” Brooks said. “It was that never-quit mentality that we've always believed in and that's what happened tonight. We just battled and battled and battled and gave ourselves a chance to win down the stretch.”

Kevin Durant was pleased as well with his team’s effort in the late stretch of the game gaining confidence after they lost key player Westbrook due to ejection.

“That last three minutes was some of the best basketball I've seen out of us since I've been here,” the Thunder player said. “I'm very proud of how we played at the end of the game. We have to do better, but that's a good stepping stone for us.”

On the other hand, Wizard head coach Randy Wittman expressed his content for his team that even though they lost they fought hard against a championship-caliber team.

“We played extremely well,” Wittman said. “I give Oklahoma City credit for coming back. They made shots. All we needed to do in the last couple minutes of regulation was make one shot and a couple of free throws and then the game would be over with. Making that run, our guys played their tails off tonight and came up short.”
