HTC One 2 M8 Release Date: Upcoming Phone Dons Fingerprint Scanner As Well, 2K Screen Resolution, Sense 6, Snapdragon 800 Also On-Board

This year, HTC released some of the finest Android devices in the market, but it does not seem to have enough to avoid accumulating net losses throughout the year. Its latest flagship, the HTC One has been considered by many as the top Droid when it was released, and so to trace its footsteps, the Taiwanese manufacturer is allegedly working on a sequel of sorts - the HTC One 2 M8, which could be announced early in 2014.

In a report by GSM Arena, three alleged shots of an HTC M8 were leaked. The images show that the upcoming phone seems to sport a fingerprint sensor as well. However, instead of placing it below the camera, the alleged fingerprint scanner is placed above it.

The report also pointed out some design differences between the HTC One and the rumored HTC M8. For one, the latter is slightly thinner than its predecessor, and it features more rounded edges.

According to the latest rumor, the upcoming phone is getting the latest Snapdragon 800 chipset and quad-core CPU clocked at 2.2Ghz. There is also 3GB of RAM under the hood so expect lightning-fast processing speed.

While it's not yet clear in which Android version the HTC M8 would come, Sense 6 has already been tipped by sources.

Let us expect the upcoming HTC phone to be announced in January, possibly during the Consumer Electronics Show.
