It is a battle of a fresh team and a rather experienced and explosive team as the Houston Rockets visit the Philadelphia 76ers for a Wednesday head-to-head.
The Rockets are coming from a Monday win against the Raptors where they won 110-104 in a nail-biter two overtime game.
Rockets star guard James Harden, who scored 26 points and 10 assists in the game, said that they couldn't afford to lose three straight games at home that's why they assured the win.
"We can't lose three in a row at home," said Harden. "We are too much of a good team to lose three games. We did whatever it took to pull it out."
"It was a long, intense game," he added. "I think in the first half we did a great job defending. They only had 33 points at the half, but in the second half, we let up. Gave them confidence early in the second half when they started making shots. We have to battle it out and fight it out."
Houston head coach Kevin McHale agreed to James Harden's thoughts about holding on and not let the game slip away from them.
"(This game) was something," Houston coach Kevin McHale said. "We still are a little bit in the mud, but the guys came out defensively and did a really good job. We were grinding. We just found a way to win. That's just kind of what we had to do."
The Sixers on the other hand, who was destroyed by a powerful San Antonio Spurs team last Monday is now looking for a win to avenge their painful defeat at home.
"The biggest thing we take away is their unselfishness on both sides of the ball," Sixers Center Spencer Hawes said. "They sell out defensively and they're excited about making that extra pass on offense. We run the same offense. You look at the way they did it and say: 'That's how it's supposed to be.'"
