Britney Spears Scandal Strikes Again? ‘Piece Of Me’ Singer Accused Of Using A Ghost Singer In Her Latest Album

Even if Britney Spears is praised for her exceptional singing prowess, reports are circulating that for her newest album 'Britney Jean', it is actually back-up singer Myah Marie who sings the most difficult parts of the song.

The accusations surfaced when one of the album's tracks, 'Passenger', was leaked online.  Fans specifically used Twitter to express their speculations that Spears lip-synced in the album. Numerous fans who were able to listen to the track claim that the song sounded more like Marie than Spears.

Earlier this February, a report by Star Magazine similarly claimed that Marie lent her vocal talents for the creation of seven songs in Spears' albums. However, Spears' father explained that Marie merely had a penchant for imitating his daughter's voice. He added that his daughter just did not consider such thing to be a big deal: "Maybe Britney doesn't know whose voice is on her album and it doesn't even interest her. Maybe she just comes in, lays down the track and leaves, and doesn't care."

Marie broke her silence and defended the 'Toxic' singer. In her e-mail to Daily Mail, she expressed her admiration for Spears and how the singer would never compromise her career by using a ghost singer: "While I am so grateful for the opportunity to provide background vocals for Britney Spears on a small number of her most recent works, I most certainly cannot take credit for her tremendous talent as a singer. She is a veritable 'living legend' with a longstanding reputation for excellence in all aspects of her artistry. She is my idol and I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for her. I have no further comment."

Spears remains silent in the middle of the controversies surrounding her album. The studio album will be released on December 3.
