Fifty Shades Of Grey Movie: Valentine's Day Release Announced, No Charlie Hunnam Was The Plan Whether He Quit Or Not

Fifty Shades of Grey movie release has officially been moved from the summer time to Valentine's Day making for a romantic getaway for the sexual thriller.

The Fifty Shades of Grey movie has gone throw some bumps in the road before filming, including the backlash after anticipation of who would play the lead roles was announced.

Jamie Dornam will play the role of billionaire S&M freak Christian Grey as the replacement for Charlie Hunnam. Dakota Johnson will still play the role of Ana Steele.

Moving the Fifty Shades of Grey movie to Valentine's Day (Feb. 14) makes for a date-night rather than every horny women running to the theatres together.

"We see this movie as a global event," Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley told EW. "The strength of this book is really worldwide, so we want to be able to take advantage of women who are invariably on vacation with their families during the month of August in Europe."

Even though "Sons of Anarchy" star will no longer play the role of Christian Grey, Longley told CNN that the move was likely to happen even if he didn't back out.

"Together with the international marketing and distribution team, we've been looking really closely at the August date and becoming more and more convinced that the right thing to do for the movie was to push it," Langley said. "So even if Charlie had stayed, we still would have been making the date change."
