Assassin’s Creed 4 PS4 News: Ubisoft’s Game Requires Day-One Patch To Run At Native 1080p Resolution; Remote Play Feature Detailed

The latest Assassin's Creed 4 PS4 news suggest that the Ubisoft game will run at a native 1080p resolution.

As posted on Polygon, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag "marks the first time a series installment will run in true native 1080p." To enable this, players North American games only need to install a day-one patch to upgrade the game from the original 900p resolution.

Gary Steinman, the communications manager for Ubisoft explained the discrepancy in the Assassin's Creed 4 PS4 resolution. "[It was to] meet an essential goal: deliver a visually brilliant game at a steady 30 frames per second (the industry gold standard for open-world games)."

He further continued, "Finishing the game at 900p gave the development team the extra room in terms of the GPU and CPU usage to ensure the framerate never dips below 30 frames per second. The team then used the time between the ship date and the release to focus on a title update that could deliver native 1080p resolution on the PS4."

Telling more about the according to IGN, "UbiSoft says that most won't be able to tell the difference after the update, as 900p is very close to 1080p. However, the updated version will seem smoother, albeit slightly less crisp."

Furthermore, the update also offers a brand-new "anti-aliasing technique" that can further enhance the visuals of Assassin's Creed 4 PS4. This feature will also apply to Assassin's Creed 4 Xbox One version next week.

Moreover, as for more Assassin's Creed 4 PS4 news, Ubisoft also explained how the Remote Play feature in Assassin's Creed 4 PS4 will work on the game's controls on the PS Vita.

As posted on Polygon, "When players access Remote Play, the control scheme will be different to the home console version because the PS Vita doesn't have the same number of buttons as the PlayStation 4's DualShock 4 controller."

When using DualShock 4, L2 and R2 are use when free running, aiming and firing the gun. Meanwhile, on PS Vita, these buttons are mapped to the shoulder buttons. PS Vita's back panel was also divided into two parts, one represents the R1 button of the DualShock4 and one for the L1.
