How I Met Your Mother Spinoff: TV Network CBS Named How I Met Your Dad As New Show To Tell Story From A Woman’s Perspective, Can This Be As Successful As The First One?
‘How I Met Your Mother’ spinoff is happening and will also show in CBS. Writer from the TV network Carter Bays has been reportedly writing new scripts for a spinoff of the long-running sitcom, which is entitled as ‘How I Met Your Dad’.
The new show was said to be the same concept as the original show but will be told on a woman’s perspective.
Writers of ‘How I Met Your Mother’ said on Twitter that they wouldn’t be introducing new characters of the spinoff in the current show. The two shows will be a different stories from each other just the same concept.
Writer Craig Thomas tweeted that ‘How I Met Your Dad’ was created with plenty of reasons and would probably answer some questions you have in their current sitcom.
Why are we doing #HIMYD? Lots of reasons, but mainly so we can finally answer where the pineapple came from. #HIMYM

Our hope is that #HIMYD becomes its own magical wonderful weird thing, and the two shows stand on their own side by side. — Carter Bays (@CarterBays) November 16, 2013
On the other hand, it has been previously announced that ‘How I Met Your Mother’ is on its ninth and final season where they will be showing who is the kids’ mother and incorporating the character with the group until the series ends.
Thomas said on his Twitter account that the show is on production for their 200th episode this week.
