Android 4.3 Jelly bean Release Date For Samsung Galaxy S3 Temporarily Suspended Amidst Performance-Related Complaints From Consumers

A few weeks ago, the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean release date was set for Samsung's Galaxy S3. Owners were very excited to see their device get an update especially after it skipped version 4.2. Unfortunately, early adopters of the update reported several performance and functionality issues which rendered their devices unusable in regular situations.

According to a report by GSM Arena, some of the common complaints include unresponsiveness on certain occasions, frequent crashing and inability to multi-task due to poor RAM management. Other notable issues are stuttering on music playback and battery drain.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is still a powerful phone by today's standards and such issues would only be caused by an update. As a result, Samsung UK has officially made a statement regarding the issue:

"As we are currently investigating the reported issues with Galaxy S3 4.3 Jelly Bean update, the upgrading service has been temporarily suspended. We are committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience, and will ensure to resume the upgrading service at the earliest possibility."

Right now, the update rollout via OTA has been suspended indefinitely until the team is able to resolve the issue.
