The 17th-ranked Oregon team will host the Utah Valley squad on Tuesday night.
Newly transfers Joseph Young and Mike Moser looks to help the Ducks to not just gain national attention but also try to finish and be the best school in the tournament.
The two contributed a lot against their last outing against West Carolina where they won 107-83 where Young scored a career-high 36 points and Moser with 26 points.
"We did a really good job of getting to the basket," Moser said. "The emphasis was to take better shots."
Head coach Dana Altman was impressed with Young's 60 percent field goal percentage and hitting 27 out of 28 free throws for an amazing career-high finish.
"He does have a knack for finishing around the basket," Altman said. "Guys were looking for him. He had the hot hand there."
At the same time, even though he was impressed by his player's offensive talents, he felt like the team was short on defense and rebounds and that's what they need to improve on for their Tuesday's game. "A very good offensive performance saved us (Wednesday)," Altman said. "Defensively and on the boards, we've got a long way to go."
The Utah Valley Wolverines on the other hand with their first time playing in the Western Athletic Conference, will try to bounce back and improve after shooting a very low percentage of hitting 14 out of 48 shots and committing 23 and 22 in their first and second game.
"Oregon is an extremely athletic and potent scoring team," Wolverine's coach's son, Holton Hunsaker told the team's official website. "Our transition defense is going to be tested. It's a special atmosphere there with the height of the Oregon basketball program."
