Elder Scrolls Online Release Date Version Allows Users To Get Attacked While Picking Locks? Developers Say It Happens If ‘You Let Your Guard Down’

Elder Scrolls Online developer ZeniMax Online Studios revealed that users can get attacked while picking locks if they let their guard down within the game, VG247.com reports.

"Tamriel is a dangerous place," ZeniMax Online wrote in its Elder Scrolls Online blog.

"If you let your guard down while you focus on lockpicking, you might get attacked. Enemy NPCs might do this anywhere in the world, and hostile players will love the opportunity to surprise you in Cyrodiil. But then again, you never know what loot might be in that chest ... maybe it's worth bringing a friend to watch your back?"

Earlier this week, they revealed that the game's release date version will limit the number of alliance participants.

War campaigns will feature a "soft cap to limit the number of participants from one alliance," so no one faction will have the advantage of overwhelming numbers, Joystiq.com reports.

Other highlights include details on how lockpicking will function in ESO, plus a couple of lore questions that shed some light on the presence (or lack) of characters such as M'aiq the Liar and the vampire Serana, Joystiq.com also reports.

Elder Scrolls Online developers also revealed during a recent question and answer segment that person-versus-person gameplay will be an integral part of the game.

"It's an incredibly important part of the game for us, and one we're working to ensure has depth and great systems. You can hop into the Alliance War starting at level 10, and if you want to level your character up from that point on in PVP, you can," developers said, according to JunkiesNation.com.

"We do not have any PVP-only stats, so you won't be penalized for leveling up entirely via PVP. It's a totally viable way to play, and you will still be able to be competitive in PVE content if you level and gear up entirely in PVP."
