Diablo 3 PS4 Update: Console Version Of The Game ‘Not Planned’; Blizzard To Integrate Remote Play Feature Allowing Up To Four Players Using PS Vita?

Diablo 3 PS4 might have Remote Play feature using the PlayStation Vita.

According to a post on Polygon, Blizzard is "looking into the possibility of up to four players participating" in Diablo 3 PS4, with the use of the Remote Play feature with the PS Vita. This is according to senior level designer of the company, Matthew Berger.

Reportedly, Berger said that Blizzard does not know yet if "supporting four Vitas at once is technically feasible." Thus, the team is planning to approach Sony to know if the four-player Remote Play for Diablo 3 PS4 can be a reality.

He said, I don't know if the PS4 supports more than one Vita in Remote Play. The Vita is a gorgeous little machine, a really nice little handheld, and it's going to look great on it."

The Remote Play for Diablo 3 PS4 is not necessarily going to be an additional feature for the game. Berger thinks that it could be more like a standard facet of the Diablo 3 PS4 game.

Furthermore, during Blizzcon 2013, Berger said that the Diablo 3 PS4 version was not planned. Basically, the console version of the game was not part of the plan, as the senior level designer said during an interview with Gamefront, "Having worked on the console version, I can tell you that the console version was not planned from the start, because it was an extreme headache to get it to work."

Talking more about Diablo 3 PS4 and the console edition of the game, he further added, "If we'd planned the console version from the start, we would have made many changes to the interface. You would have had fewer skills to use at a time, there probably would have been just four or five, so it would have been easier to fit on the controller. So it was clearly not designed with console in mind."

Berger also pointed out that it the Diablo 3 PS4 or the console version were not the only version improved over time, because the PC version also underwent enhancements and changes.
